Abstract

The concepts of the Social Structure Theory and the Community Theories have been adopted and jointly applied to reach a better understanding of the lifestyles of people in a community. The Social Structure Theory offers a framework explaining the economic, social and political relationships within a community. Similarly, concepts adopted from the various community theories can lead to a more insightful explanation of behavior within a community. Furthermore, these theories provide insights into possible future events and how the community will evolve. When jointly used, these two sets of concepts can offer a new approach to the study of community, which can result in a more comprehensive and complete description and a better understanding of the lifestyle of a community. Data for this article was collected through dialogues and individual interviews, as well as personal observations.
