Abstract

The objective of this study is to explain employer’s expectations of Information technology competencies in accounting graduates, which consists of 4 items comprising knowledge of computer, competency in computer, competency in using application software packages and competency in using accounting software packages. The sample size is 1993 employers of limited companies in Bangkok. Questionnaires and individual interviews were used for data collection. The content analysis, frequency and percentile were used for data analysis. The study results indicate that employers’ overall expectation of accounting graduates is at a high and exceptionally good level. Competency in computer operation, application software and accounting software are similarly at a high level. In addition, knowledge of computers is at an exceptionally good level.
